So, every year my sister’s school does a fundraiser where you can buy Gertrude Hawk chocolates.

I was going through the catalog and saw some yummy things, but none of the ingredients were listed. So I emailed the company asking if they made anything vegan. I got this response today:

Today Insha and I took a mini road trip to South Jersey to visit my twin Travis. I FINALLY met his mom - who is just the sweetest person ever - and we checked out a cool comic book store. Then we ate at Kaya’s Kitchen in Belmar.

It was so hard to choose what to eat - and for once not because the options were limited. With a mostly vegan menu, Kaya’s is where it’s at.

We split the Tempeh Wings as our appetizer, and we each got burgers. I went with “The Classic,” a veggie patty with lettuce, tomato and daiya vegan cheese slathered with vegan mayo on a whole grain bun. It was hands-down the best veggie burger I’ve ever had (sorry, Red Robin). Travis and Insha split some vegan mac and cheese that I tasted that was way good, too.

The best part of the trip though was spending it with Travis =)

Sorry if the photos are kind of blurry, I don’t have the best camera or steadiest hand, but I promise everything looked as delicious as it tasted.
